There is housing offered for out-of-town rowers which includes meals; travel to USRowing Club Nationals and Canadian Henley is included for all rowers. UR isn’t a selection camp: there are no cuts, and everyone is expected to make major progress from the beginning of the summer to the last race in Canada. Head coaches are professionals with long track records of success in junior rowing; UR maintains a high coach-athlete ratio so that everyone can truly develop their rowing and racing skills.

We believe in three core philosophies: that camp should be focused on developing athletes, that a focus on process over product is the best way to do that, and that the most important thing that a camper can take away from the summer is having had a great experience, top to bottom. What we’ve found, however, is that by focusing on those three things we not only have campers who become better rowers and better people, but also who win medals. In 2015 Upper River Boat Club won a National Championship and had top-three finishes at the USRowing Club National Championships and the Royal Canadian Henley.
